According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the legal sector added 1,000 jobs in September. The increase, although modest, is a step in the right direction.

Legal employment rates had the ups and downs of a roller coaster this summer. July showed increases of 1,500 legal jobs, with August showing a dip  of 1,400 jobs.

Overall, growth is cautiously optimistic. 5,900 more people are employed in the legal profession than this time in 2011, a net gain of 2,900 in 2012.
